Pro Patria Centre

Wagga Wagga and the broader Riverina is home to a significant number of current and former serving Australian Defence Force personnel, many of whom have returned from active service.

Hence, developing and nurturing positive social connections is essential for the Wagga Wagga community that incorporates both current service personnel, veterans and their families.

RSL Life Care Veteran Services

RSL Life Care Veterans Services is a charity and not for profit organisation focused on helping Australian veterans and their fmilies by providing support and wellbeing programs that are veterans centric and recovery focused.

Open Arms

Open Arms – Veterans & Families Counselling is a free and confidential support service available to current and former Australian Defence Force personnel and their families.

Established to promote mental health and wellbeing, Open Arms offers counselling, group programs, and crisis support to help individuals manage the challenges that can arise from military service and everyday life. With a focus on understanding, respect, and resilience, Open Arms is dedicated to helping the veteran community lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

Veterans Advocacy Service

The Veterans’ Advocacy Service (VAS) is a statewide specialist service of Legal Aid NSW.

We can help anyone who has ever served in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) including those who are still serving, and their dependants.

We give free independent advice about your rights and entitlements under the veterans’ entitlements legislation (Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988 and the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004).

Defence and Veterans Legal Service

We are a free national service that provides independent information and legal advice to support Australian Defence Force personnel and veterans, as well as their families, carers and supporters, to safely share their experiences with the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.

We are independent and separate from the Royal Commission, the Department of Defence, and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

Veterans Catalogue

The pilot of the ‘Veterans’ Catalogue’ launched by the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) in partnership with Servulink has been hailed as a success.

The online catalogue connects veterans and their families to the complex range of services available to them throughout Australia.

The Australian veteran service and support environment is large, diverse, and complex, comprising some 2,800 ex-service organisations and approximately 4,000 registered charities nationwide.
